The FSTest Sulfonamides Rapid Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of sulfonamide antibiotic residues in animal-derived foods, including muscle tissues (fish, chicken, pork, beef, and lamb) and eggs. Sulfonamides are synthetic antimicrobial drugs widely used in livestock production; however, improper use leads to residues that can cause serious toxic effects in humans. This kit provides a simple, rapid, and visually interpreted screening solution suitable for food enterprises, testing institutions, and regulatory agencies.

Test Procedure

Step 1: Sample Extraction (Muscle Tissues - Method 1: Lower LOD)
Extract 2.0g minced sample with 2mL Reagent A for 2 min. Centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min, transfer 1mL supernatant, and evaporate to dryness at 65°C under a nitrogen/air stream. Redissolve in 300µL Reagent C.

Step 2: Sample Extraction (Muscle Tissues - Method 2: Rapid Field Test)
Extract 2.0g minced sample with 4mL Reagent C for 2 min. Centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min; the supernatant is ready for testing.

Step 3: Sample Extraction (Eggs)
Mix 3g homogenized egg (without shells) with 3mL Reagent A and 1 vial of Reagent B. Extract for 2 min and centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min. Evaporate all supernatant to dryness at 65°C and redissolve in 300µL Reagent C.

Step 4: Assay Execution & Reading
Ensure cassette is at 20–40°C. Pipette 100µL of prepared sample solution into a microwell, mix 3–5 times, and let stand for 3 minutes. Transfer all mixed solution to the sample well of the cassette and interpret results after 10 minutes.

Performance & Validation

Limits of Detection (LODs) for Representative Sulfonamides (µg/kg):

Result Interpretation:

· Negative (-): Both C line and T line appear.

· Positive (+): C line appears; T line does not appear.

· Invalid: C line fails to appear.
