The ATP Swab - QuickTest, used with an ATP Hygiene Monitor, evaluates surface cleanliness by detecting ATP, the universal energy molecule in all living cells. Organic residues and microbial contamination contain ATP. When the swab contacts the luciferase reagent, a chemical reaction emits light proportional to the ATP amount. The monitor measures this light in Relative Light Units (RLUs), providing rapid results—higher RLUs indicate dirtier surfaces.
