FSTest Water Heavy Metal Cu Rapid Test Kit (10 Tests)

Product Overview

The FSTest Water Heavy Metal Cu Rapid Test Kit is a professional-grade, colloidal gold lateral flow immunochromatography assay designed for the swift, qualitative screening of heavy metal copper (Cu) contamination in water supplies. This kit provides water treatment facilities, environmental inspection groups, and beverage manufacturing plants with an efficient, reliable tool to monitor water purity and enforce compliance with regulatory safety limits.

Engineered specifically for drinking water screening, the kit effectively flags copper levels above or below the safety threshold, serving as a dependable, low-cost first-line defense in environmental quality control and public health safety monitoring programs.

Product Highlights & Key Benefits

· Ultra-Rapid Results: Run the assay and interpret the visual lines within a swift 5 to 8 minute window, dramatically bypassing conventional laboratory turnaround times.

· Clear Target Detection Limit: Offers an optimized regulatory cut-off sensitivity calibrated precisely to 0.5 ppm (mg/L).

· Fully Self-Contained Kit: Complete with all essential testing consumables—including test cassettes, centrifuge tubes, disposable transfer pipettes, and an extraction solution. No advanced laboratory equipment required.

· Inverse Visual Readout: Uses a competitive colorimetric mechanism where a positive result is explicitly flagged when the Test line (T) disappears, providing clear, unambiguous differentiation with zero training.

· Stable Temperature Tolerance: The immunochromatographic reaction performs reliably across a broad ambient operating temperature range of 20–40°C.

Technical Principle: Competitive Inhibition

The kit relies on a competitive lateral flow immunochromatographic assay format. The cassette features an observation window housing an invisible Control (C) zone and a Test (T) zone before the sample fluidics are activated.

Free Copper Ions (Cu) + Antibody-Conjugates → Lateral Flow → Inhibition of Binding at T-Zone → Absent T-Line

When a treated water sample is added to the sample well, the liquid migrates laterally through the strip via capillary action. If the water sample contains heavy metal copper (Cu) at or exceeding the limit of detection, the copper ions competitively bind with the antibodies, fully inhibiting them from reacting with the pre-coated target antigens on the T-line. This causes the Test (T) line to not appear. Conversely, in a safe/negative sample, the antibodies are free to capture on the T-zone, forming a vivid, colored band. The Control (C) line always triggers to guarantee the fluidics are functional.

Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Sample Preparation (Extraction)

· Using a pipette, transfer 1 mL of your target water sample into a clean 2 mL centrifuge tube.

· Add exactly 10 µL of the Heavy Metal Cu Extraction Solution into the tube.

· Shake the tube thoroughly for 1 minute to mix the contents completely, then let it stand undisturbed for 5 minutes. The sample is now fully ready for testing.

2. Running the Assay

· Ensure both the test cassette and the pre-treated sample mixture are adjusted to the ambient room temperature range of 20–40°C before starting.

· Remove the test cassette from its sealed foil pouch and lay it flat on a stable, level surface.

· Using a fresh dropper pipette, apply 2–3 drops of the prepared sample solution into the circular sample hole (S) of the test cassette.

· Start your timer and allow the fluid to migrate. Interpret the visual lines between 5 to 8 minutes. Do not read results after 8 minutes.

Results Determination & Action Guide

· Negative (-): Both the Control (C) line and the Test (T) line are visible. This confirms that copper levels in the drinking water are safely below the target 0.5 ppm screening threshold.

· Positive (+): Only the Control (C) line appears; the Test (T) line fails to show any visible color. This indicates a contamination event where the heavy metal copper concentration is at or above the 0.5 ppm limit.

· Invalid: The Control (C) line fails to develop completely, regardless of whether the T line is present or absent. The test should be re-run immediately using a brand new cassette.

Crucial Safety & Handling Precautions

· This kit is strictly engineered for qualitative purposes to serve as a fast field screening solution. It does not indicate the exact numerical concentration of copper ions. Confirmatory laboratory analysis should always follow to verify findings.

· Once the test cassette's outer protective packaging is torn open, initiate the testing workflow within 1 hour to avoid structural degradation caused by environmental humidity.

· Each test cassette is strictly single-use and cannot be recycled or cross-used. Ensure tests are completed well within the product’s valid expiration window.

· Avoid using un-vetted water matrixes containing high densities of interfering chemical substances or solid suspensions, which can cause erratic lateral flow migration.

Storage & Packing Specifications

· 10 tests per box (Test cassettes x 10, Centrifuge tubes x 10, Pipettes x 10, Extraction solution x 1, Manual).

· Storage Environment:Keep tightly sealed and store in a cool, dry place between 4–30°C. Do not freeze.

· Shelf Life:18 months under ideal tightly-sealed storage parameters.
